This paper examines the role and importance of entrepreneurs in the contemporary economy. Under the influence of changes in the global economy, in which the main source of income is no longer capital but knowledge and information, the role of the entrepreneur is gaining in importance, and they are becoming an important factor in a successful business. As one of main factors of progress, entrepreneurs initiate new products, implement new technologies, develop and innovate new services and contribute to economic growth of enterprises and the whole society. Except for changes in companies, entrepreneurs initiate their actions and changes in its environment. Some of these changes are related to the emergence of new banking products and services that result from the adjustment of the banking sector to new conditions.
