Several countries face problems of water scarcity, making it imperative to raise questions about the conservation and preservation of water resources. As causes for this problem, are related the development of cities, population growth, related with the increasing demand for water by industry and agriculture. In an attempt to solve this problem it is necessary to reformulate the water supply system, especially with regard to the use of non-potable water in residences. In the incessant search for viable alternatives, there is the reuse of precipitation, which with its utilization brings benefits such as a reduction of drinking water consumption and flood control in regions with large paved areas. The objective of this article is to design and implement a system of reuse of rainwater for nonpotable purposes, presenting a capture and storage process. For the development of the methodology, data lengths of the precipitation of the city of Manaus were provided by the National Institute of Meteorology (INMET). With the data, the dimensioning of the size of the rainwater reservoir was compared through the English Practical Method, German Practical Method and Rippl Method. Based on the results obtained, it was established the type of reservoir to be adopted and the calculation to find the pump-motor capacity to be used in the elevation of the water to a superior reservoir, as well to demonstrate the economy that the implantation of this system will go generate.
