Previsao de chuvas que incluam informacao sobre, quantidade de precipitacao, local de ocorrencia e epoca (o tempo em ano, mes ou dia) sao sempre variaveis de dificil trato. A maneira usual de apresentacao de previsoes pluviometricas sao os mapas de pluviometria para uma determinada regiao. Essas apresentacoes geralmente envolvem doze mapas (isolinhas), um para cada mes do ano. Nessas previsoes, duas variaveis explicativas sao utilizadas, o tempo, geralmente em mes e a localizacao geografica (latitude e longitude). Essa forma de apresentacao e trabalhosa e volumosa devido a quantidade de mapas envolvidos. Nesse trabalho, a geoestatistica foi utilizada com o objetivo de construir um unico mapa, que fornecesse ao mesmo tempo, a quantidade de precipitacao, o local e o mes do ano. A quantidade de chuva e estimada usando-se um plano cartesiano nao geometrico, ou seja, os eixos com latitude e longitude, foram substituidos por outras duas informacoes, a distância do local ate o mar em linha reta, como abscissa e o mes do ano que se deseja estimar como ordenada. Um semivariograma amostral foi construido, um modelo teorico gaussiano foi ajustado aos dados e foi detectada dependencia espacial (DI) forte, igual a 0,94. A krigagem foi utilizada e o mapa construido. A acuracia das previsoes de precipitacao foram verificadas pela validacao cruzada. O grafico de dispersao, valores observados x valores estimados forneceu R2 = 0,8967 para a equacao de regressao linear simples. A krigagem construiu mapa de excelente qualidade fornecendo resultados confiaveis para a precipitacao em Sergipe. A B S T R A C T Forecast rainfall that include information, amount of precipitation, place of occurrence and time (the time in year, month and day) are always hard to deal with variables. The usual way of presenting rainfall predictions are the rainfall maps for a given region, these presentations usually involve twelve maps (isolines ), one for each month of the year. In these predictions, two explanatory variables are used, the time, usually in the month and geographic location (latitude and longitude). This form of presentation is cumbersome and bulky because the amount of maps involved. In this work geostatistics was used in order to build a single map that provides at the same time, the amount of rainfall, the location and month of the year. The amount of rain is estimated using a non-geometric Cartesian plane, ie, the axes with latitude and longitude, were replaced by two other information, the distance from the location to the sea straight, as abscissa and the month of the year to be estimated as ordered. A sample semivariogram was built, a Gaussian theoretical model was fitted to the data and was detected spatial dependence (DI) strong, equal to 0.94. Kriging was used and the map built, the accuracy of precipitation forecasts were verified by cross-validation. The scatter plot, observed x values estimated values provided R 2 = 0.8967 for the linear regression equation. Kriging built excellent quality map providing reliable results for precipitation in Sergipe. Keywords: rain, forecast, isolines, geostatistics, spatial dependence.
