This work reports aspect related to chemical capping synthesis of nano-sizedparticles of nickel oxide. It is a simple, novel and cost effective method. Theaverage particle size, specific surface area, crystallinity index are estimatedfrom XRD analysis. The structural, functional groups and optical characters areanalyzed with using of SEM, FTIR and UV- visible techniques. XRD studiesconfirm the presence of high degree of crystallinity nature of nickel oxidenanoparticles. Their particle size is found to be 12 nm and specific surfacearea (SSA) is 74m2 g-1. The optical band gap energy value 3.83ev has also beendetermined from UV-vis spectrum.
