頸部リンパ節転移に対する超音波診断の有用性を検討するために頸部郭清術症例139例 (155側) を対象にし, 以下の結果を得た。1.短径10mm以上の転移リンパ節で描出されたものは93%であった。2.経過観察中転移リンパ節になった症例は短径の増大 (10mm以上) と内部エコーの出現であった。3.超音波診断による転移リンパ節の正診率は85%であった。4.偽陰性例は頸部リンパ節全般にわたって見られ組織学的には微小転移が多かった。5.偽陽性は上内深頸リンパ節と顎下リンパ節であった。組織学的には反応性のリンパ節炎が多かった。以上から転移リンパ節に対する超音波診断の有用性が示された。
