昭和58年1月から59年2月末日までに当科に入院した胸部食道癌症例16例に対し, 新しい合併療法を試みた. すなわちCisplatin (以下CDDP) とPepleomycin (以下Pep) を術前・術後に併用し, さらに術前にはLipiodol+Pep懸濁液を内視鏡下に食道主病巣の口側粘膜下に注入し縦隔内リンパ節のPep移行を目的とした. さらにA3症例には術後局所にLineac照射を追加するが術前には原則として照射は行わない. 16例中12例に切除がなされ切除率は75%と従来の切除率53%に比べ向上した. 術前化学療法にて自覚症状の改善や, さらに切除標本や郭清せるリンパ節に組織学的効果もみられ, 従来の合併療法に比べ期待がもてる方法と考えられた.
