En este articulo se discute el imaginario que subyace en la construcción del modelo turístico\udque se ha gestado en Puerto Vallarta. Para ello se realiza una reflexión sobre la naturaleza, los\udbeneficios y distorsiones que el turismo origina sobre las comunidades en donde se incardina.\udEl análisis pone de relieve que en Puerto Vallarta, su imagen de proyección internacional, su\udestructura urbana en incluso la tipología de sus viviendas son fruto de una maquinación de\udelementos importados, que no guardan relación con su naturaleza original.In this paper the imaginary that is behind the construction of the touristic model of Puerto\udVallarta is discussed. With this aim, an analysis of the nature, the benefits and distortions that\udtourism produce over the communities where it is developed is done. The results suggest that in\udPuerto Vallarta, its image at international level, its urban structure and even the architecture typology of housing is built on the composition of imported elements, which have not any relation with its indigenous nature.En aquest article es discuteix l’imaginari que subjau en la construcció del model turístic que s’ha gestat a Puerto Vallarta. Per això es realitza una reflexió sobre la naturalesa, els beneficis i les distorsions que el turisme origina sobre les comunitats on s’incardina. L’anàlisi posa de relleu que a Puerto Vallarta, la seva imatge de projecció internacional, la seva estructura urbana i inclús la tipologia dels seus habitatges són fruit d’una maquinació d’elements importats, que no guarden relació amb la seva naturalesa original.Peer Reviewe
