In the decades to come, global climate change poses asignificant environmental, social, and economic threat. Amongthe various strategies that are being implemented to reducethis threat are those that focus on decreasing greenhouse gasemissions by supporting the climate-friendly behaviour of thegeneral public. The present study is focused on CzechGreenpeace donors. These donors represent a segment of thepublic that, while engaged in supporting systemic policymeasures in the area of climate protection, also has thepotential to grow in the area of climate-friendly householdbehaviour. Our research is based on a sample of 504 respondentsand deals with this group’s climate-relevant householdbehaviour. In relation to Community-Based Social Marketing, weexamine the potential of Greenpeace donors to behave in aclimate-friendly way, and we identify the barriers that preventthem from getting involved in a broader spectrum ofclimate-friendly behaviour. Our analysis is informed by severalsignificant contemporary theories of pro-environemntalbehaviour. We also highlight topic areas on which to focus whenencouraging Greenpeace donors to further improve theirclimate-friendly behaviour.
