“Weight Method”: a new research perspective for La Tène sites The new protocol for the calculation of body weight presented here rests on the study of modern species, morphologically similar to ancient cattle, pig and sheep raised during the Late Iron Age in Belgian Gaul. Combined with a computerised and automated calculation, available on a free web application, this new “weight method” which allows weight estimations of cattle, pig and sheep body parts, is broadly explained here.
