学生の調理実習において, 実習生および調理器具, 施設から分離したS.aureus64株についてRAPD法, BSFGE法およびPFGE法 (CHEF法) による遺伝子多型解析を行い, 施設内での本菌の伝播実態を調べた.型別の結果から特定実習生の手指に保有していたS.aureusが使用包丁, 調理したサラダに拡散していることが推定された.また, カランとフライパンにも伝播が認められた.RAPD法による型別では2つのプライマーを組み合わせにより11型に, BSFGE法およびPFGE法では12型に区別することができた.また, BSFGE法とPFGE法型別では両者は完全に一致したが, RAPD法とPFGE法による型別で8型 (73%) は一致したが残りの型は不一致であったRAPD法はPFGE法に比べ識別能では劣るが, 迅速性および簡便性の特徴を有しており, S.aureusの汚染源調査などに十分に活用できると考えられる.
