The polarization characteristics of the lead electrode by various frequencies of alternating current were studied by using an alternating current bridge. As a result, the exchange current density of the electron transfer process and the transfer coefficient were obtained. The frequency response diagram was fully understood by assuming that the over-all process consisted of three elementary processes; the diffusion of lead ions in solution, any electron transfer process and a crystalliza:rion process The rate of the crystallization process was about one tenth of that of the electron transfer process. The apparent activation energy of electron transfer and crystalization was 1.2 kcal/mol and 2.9 kcalんnolrespectively.
