Much of the African content was known by the explorers and other stakeholders to be a jungle mostly dominated by bushes, wild animals and a community made up of people of diverse cultures and behaviuors. In its own breath, the continent has seen the rise and fall of many great civilizations and empires throughout its history. It is known for the some of the greatest civilizations and diverse cultures. It is known that two major civilizations developed in African antiquity: one around the Nile River in the northeast and the other, somewhat younger, around the Niger River in the west. Ancient Egypt and Nubia are prominent in history textbooks and other West African civilization. All these scenarios created rich storytelling lines which were passed on verbally from one generation to the other at different settings and different times. The story telling sessions acted as shared communal event where people congregate together, listening, and participating in accounts and stories of past deeds, beliefs, wisdom, counsel, morals, taboos, and myths (Ngugi wa Thiong'o 1982, Utley 2008).It is in the folktales and myths that the Africans could hand down their traditions and customs from one generation to the next with ease and pomp and mostly by mouth which was  the only available channel of communication by then.in  a setting with not too much technology and other current generation devices, the stories served the purpose of  Educating ,motivating, warnings ,behavior ,generational  awareness and keeper, preparation for adult youth and adulthood, understanding your role in the society and any other purpose the story teller felt needed to be passed from one generation to the other. For the listeners which mostly consisted on the younger generation as the peers, older or elders tell the stories from their own experiencing, others experiences and through imagination and system thinking. In short, the stories helped in joining the dots in life and amplifying societal norms and beliefs. In the context of the wave of change characterized by uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity, the story telling ecosystem has changed. The channel of communication is characterized by use of print media, enhanced use of technology and other smart devices, internet, different and diverse audience, the purpose , narrative and plot of the story is now different and other changes that has impacted the story telling narrative. This study therefore looks at the aspect of storytelling in developing countries with enhanced use of modern devises and improved media systems   from the perspectives of learners in various spaces
