Abstract This is a methodological study that verifies the validity and reliability by translating and modifying the Korean version of Behavior Health Care Competency (BHCC) tool. This study verified the content validity, constructvalidity, and reliability of 230 nurses working in general hospitals. The BHCC tool was analyzed using a total of4 factors and 16 items. The tool had a high level of reliability and validity. The BHCC is a measurement tool considering the mental health care of non-psychiatric nurses, and it has meaning in that it establishes basic materialso non-psychiatric nurses can manage the patient's physical and potential psychiatric problems effectively.
