Structural soil quality is desirable for plant growth as well as root system establishment. Therefore, the objective of this work was to evaluate root distribution, tensile strength and friability of soil aggregates under different management systems in soybean crop. The experimental design was a 2 x 2 x 2 factorial scheme, with factor A: no-tillage (PD) and no-tillage (ES); factor B: with and without application of agricultural plaster and factor C: with and without use of the furrower, arranged in random blocks with three repetitions. At soybean R2 stage, soil collection was performed to evaluate the root system at depths of 0.0-0.05, 0.05-0.10, 0.10-0.20, 0.20-0, 40 and 0.40-0.60 m, with the values of diameter (mm) and length (cm). Soil scarification followed by the use of the furrow stem caused a change in the physical quality of the soil, reducing the friability of the aggregates, and allowing a greater density of root length at depth 0.00.20. The no-tillage system (SPD) provided a higher density of root length in subsurface layers 0.20-0.40 cm.
