Emission spectra of CS2, NO, N2O, and NO2 in the region240-650nm and their excitation cross section curves(excitation functions)were obtained under low energy electron impact(2-25eV)at a gas pressure of 10-6-10-5Torr. The excitation functions obtained were for the following processes:(1)CS2→CS2*, (2)NO→NO(A)*, (3)N2O→N2(C3IIu)+O, (4)N2O→N2O+*+e-, (5)NO2→NO2*, (6)NO2→NO(A and/or B)+O. The lowest emission state of3∑+u besides the 3A2 state for CS2 was observed in the region400-600nm. The excitation function for NO2 supported the existence of the two emission states(the doublet and quartet states)in the region 400-600 nm. Some resonant peaks were found in the excitation functions for CS2, NO, and NO2. The apparent features of the curves for the process(4)were consistent with the threshold law.
