本研究は, 都市における公的スペース, 特に都市空間の基盤構造を成す大きな要素である河川・水路などの水空間およびその周辺に対する景観的活性化を計るための基礎的な知見を得ることを目的としたものである。そこで, 水空間に対する人々の総体的イメージとして考えた水景観に対する反応行動について, 2つの異なったアプローチをもつ調査のもとで検討した。又, 数種の統計的手法を分析に用い景観解析プロセスへの適用を試みた。
