1.研 究の背景 ・目的 中国庭園の造景 において,石 組 は庭園景観の形成上大 きな役割 を果た してお り,「一庭園 の設 計の成敗 の多 くは仮山1)構 成 の良 さによ る」 と言われている2)。 北 京市北海公園 の瓊華 島は,中 国 の帝 王庭園 に存在する最大規模 の石組(仮 山)を 有 し,石 組 によ る豊 富な園景を演 出 しているほか,園 外 の都市景観 にも重要な役 割を果た してお り,800年 余 りにわた って北京 市 の名 景 と して (燕京8景)3)世 に伝 わ って きた。北海公園の慶 華 島 に関連す る 既存研究 は少な くないが塾「5「,石組 による造景の視点か らの本格的 な研究 は主 に孟氏 の研究 だけである6)7)。しか しこれ らの研究 は石 組 と造 景意匠 との関連性 について概観的 にまとめて いるものの, 具体的な分析までには至 っていない。本研究 はこれ らの研究を踏 まえ,石 組 に関する知見 の再 整理を行 う上で,北 海公園瓊華島を 対象 とし,そ の石組 の配 置特徴 を明 らかにす ると同時 に,石 組 に よ る造景の位置づけについて考察 する ことを 目的 と した。
