This paper shows, on the example of the tram system operated in the city of Osijek, the effect of the quality of tram track geometry on the tram travel speed, i.e. on the change in transport supply and, consequently, in transport demand. Degraded quality of the tram track geometry has a direct impact on tram speed and, hence, on the increase in travel time. Consequently, degraded quality of track geometry affects the level of service and, finally, the number of passengers in the tram transport system. Negative impacts of the tram track geometry degradation on proper operation of the tram transport system can be reduced by proper planning and timely maintenance of tram tracks.
