The social innovation that emerged as a new concept in the last period is the basis of this study. The social innovation is used to mean that to provide a sustainable life in the world; to focus on social issues such as culture, economy, environment etc. and to produce innovative solutions for the problems related to them by considering the society. The EU which was initially formed by the mentality of economic integration, gradually embodies its social policies in the center of the establishment and enlargement process, makes it different from the other integrations. On the other hand, the United Kingdom (Brexit Britain Exit) process shows that negative developments are taking place in the social integration of the EU. In this article the social efforts of the EU has been dealt with in the framework of innovation policies and social innovation, aiming to achieve an innovative approach to the social integration of the EU. When examining examples of social innovation projects implemented in the EU; it could be concluded that social innovation can be effective in eliminating differences in prosperity between EU member states and in the development of the social integration of the EU.
