Bu araştırmanın amacı, girişimcilerin yatırımlarında sektör (iş kolu)\udtercihlerini etkileyen faktörlerin Düzce ili özelinde incelenmesidir. Bununla\udbirlikte, girişimcilerin sektör tercihlerini etkileyen faktörlerin demografik\udözelliklerine göre faklılık gösterip göstermediği berlirlenecektir. Ayrıca,\udgirişimcilerin yaptıkları yatırımlara ilişkindeğerlendirmeleri incelenecektir.\udAraştırmanın evreni, 2009 ve sonraki yıllarda Düzce ilinde çeşitli sektörlere\udyatırım yapan 386 girişimciden oluşmaktadır. Araştırmada nicel araştırma\uddeseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırma verileri anket tekniği kullanılarak elde\udedilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler SPSS 18 paket programında analiz edilmiştir.\udAraştırma sonucunda, girişimcilerin sektör tercihlerini etkileyen faktörlerin\udsektörel öngörü, bilgi düzeyi arkadaş tavsiyeleri ve sermaye miktarıolduğu\udgörülmüştür. Bununla birlikte, girişimcilerin yatırım yaptıkları sektörleri\udetkileyen faktörlerin cinsiyetlerine ve sektörel deneyimlerinegöre farklılaştığı\udbelirlenmiştir. Ayrıca,girişimcilerin yatırımlarının başarılı olacağı ile ilgili\udöngörülerinin netleşmemiş olmasına rağmen tekrar aynı iş kolunu tercih etme\udeğiliminde oldukları görülmüştür.The aim of this study is to examine the factors affecting sector\udpreferences of entrepreneurs in Düzce. However, according to sociodemographic\udcharacteristics the factors affecting sector preferences of\udentrepreneurs whether differantiatedor not will be determined. Additionally,\udassessments will be examined on the investmentsof the entrepreneurs. Research\udpopulation costists of 386 entrepreneurs invested in various sectors at 2009 and\udlater in Düzce. In this research, qualitative research design was used. Research\uddata were obtained using questionnaire technique. Obtained data was\udanalyzedusing SPSS package program. As a result, the factors affecting sector\udpreferences of entrepreneurs consist of four factors including respectively\udsectoral foresight, level of knowledge, advice of friend and amount of capital.\udHowever, it was determined that the factors affecting sector preferences of\udentrepreneurs have been differentiated in terms of gender and sectorial\udexprience. In addition, it was seen that despite of foresights regard to\udentrepreneurs’ investments being successful have not been clarified,\udentrepreneurs tend to prefer same sector again
