Bruselloz Türkiye’de önemli bir halk sağlığı problemi olan zoonotik bir hastalıktır. Çocuklarda sıklıkla osteoartiküler bulgulara yol açsa da, hastalık diğer tüm sistemleri etkileyebilir. Brusellozun en sık hematolojik bulguları ise anemi, trombositopeni ve lökopenidir. Hemofagositik lenfohistiyositoz brusellozun hayatı tehdit edici nadir bir komplikasyonudur. Burada hemofagositik lenfohistiyositoz tablosunda başvuran, Brucella’ya yönelik epidemiyolojik ipuçları olan, başlanılan ampirik antibruselloz tedaviye dramatik yanıt veren bir hastayı sunduk.
