El escenario actual de pluralismo radical de las formas y experiencias artísticas parece desmentir la posibilidad de acordar criterios estéticos. En este marco, se ha reavivado el problema del gusto, que protagonizó la reflexión estética del siglo XVIII, entendido como la tensión entre el origen de los juicios en la respuesta subjetiva y variable de los individuos particulares en la apreciación estética, y la exigencia de criterios interpersonales para juzgar críticamente. En la actualidad, la aspiración por establecer criterios estéticos centra, en gran medida, el debate en las posibilidades de combatir el desacuerdo estético apelando a la justificación racional de los juicios de gusto o juicios estéticos. Del mismo modo, la discusión actual vincula la cuestión de la norma del gusto con la posibilidad de afirmar las propiedades estéticas de los objetos. A este respecto, destaca el llamado «realismo estético», posición que afirma la existencia real de propiedades estéticas en el objeto que contarían como condiciones de verdad de los juicios. Este trabajo aborda críticamente el proyecto realista, argumentando que su modelo de justificación racional de los juicios estéticos resulta insatisfactorio, no sólo porque su pretensión de excluir el componente evaluativo de las propiedades estéticas le aleja de la tradicional forma de abordar el problema del gusto, sino porque por la misma razón resultaría inadecuado para el propio fin que parece perseguir, que es el de facilitar criterios de valor estético.The current situation of radical pluralism of artistic forms and experiences seems to negate any possible agreement about aesthetic criteria. This greatly explains the new interest in the problem of taste, crucial in XVIII century Aesthetics. The problem is seen as the tension between the origin of judgement in the various subjective answers of particular individuals who aesthetically appreciate an object, and the demand for interpersonal normative criteria. Nowadays the debate focuses on the possibilities for rational justification of judgements of taste or aesthetic judgments. In the same way, the current discussion links the question of the norm of taste with the possibility of asserting aesthetic properties in the objects. Here the so called «aesthetic realism», which claims that there are existing real properties in the objects and that they can work as truthconditions for judgments, is relevant. This paper examines realism critically and argues against its pattern for rational justification of aesthetics judgement which tries to exclude value as part of aesthetic properties. Doing so, realism not only differs from the traditional way of seeing the problem of taste, but also makes it difficult to help with aesthetic criteria, as seems to be its goal
