En el presente artículo reflexiono y sistematizo el proceso metodológico desplegado durante mi tesis doctoral denominada Polítca y mujeres en la Araucanía, otros mundos posibles en tiempos de globalización, realizada entre los años 2009 y 2011 en el sur de Chile, donde mi ser mujer influyó en la toma de decisiones metodológicas de la investigación, permitiéndome considerar como datos muchos más elementos que los recogidos a partir de los instrumentos de recolección que utilicé. El trabajar profesionalmente con mujeres de la región, acompañándolas en sus procesos organizativos y productivos con el objeto de mejorar sus condiciones de vida, a la postre se convirtieron en hitos que aportaron a mi investigación doctoral, configurando una ruta metodológica, donde la investigación cualitativa es una estrategia de aproximación a la realidad de las mujeres con quienes desarrollé la tesis.In this article I reflect and systematized the methodological process unfolded during my doctoral thesis called Politics and women in the Araucanía, other possible worlds in times of globalization, conducted between 2009 and 2011 in southern Chile, where my being a woman influenced making decisions methodological research, allowing me to consider as many more data elements collected from collection instruments I used. The work professionally with women in the region, accompanied by their organizational and production processes in order to improve their living conditions, eventually became milestones that contributed to my doctoral research, setting a methodological path where qualitative research is a strategy approach to the reality of women who develop the thesis
