<p>The place and role of relativism in the history of philosophy is replete in diverse literatures. In the domain of values, relativism had been exalted beyond bounds. However, in view of the emergence of globalization and its unifying influence and impact, as well as recent global challenges to human life and security, the paper maintains that a wholesome acceptance of relativism in the domain of values has obvious unpalatable consequences. The paper argues finally that a universal ethics is not a possibility today, but an imperative.</p
