The present paper focuses on selected cymbelloid diatom taxa inhabiting Nur Sphagnum bog in northern Mongolia. Samples collected in this area contained numerous species of Encyonema KUTZING and Cymbopleura (KRAMMER) KRAMMER, that are together acidobiontic, oligotraphentic taxa. Cymbopleura pernaviculiformis, Cymbopleura deviatkinii and Encyonema marvanii are described as species new to science. Furthermore, for two other species we suggest new nomenclatural combinations. The characteristics of Cymbopleura naviculiformis (AUERSWALD) KRAMMER sensu stricto are discussed in order to compare it with other species mentioned in this paper. The autecological characteristics of the new species found in Nur bog are presented.
