Objective: It is known that delivering healthy, safe and adequate water to the public is an important public service and a consumer right. It is important to know drinking water preferences of women considering that it may have an impact on their family and the environment. In this study, it was aimed to determine drinking water preferences and causes of preference in women in Meram district, which is one of the central districts of Konya. Methods: This descriptive study was conducted on women over 18 years of age who applied to the randomly selected five family health centers in Meram district. The sample size of the study was calculated as 158 by using appropriate sampling size methods. The data were collected by a questionnaire using face-to-face interview technique. Descriptive statistics and chi-square test were used in data analysis. p<0.05 was considered as statistically significant. Results: The mean age of the 158 women who participated in the study was 38.4 ± 14.3. It was determined that 36.7% of the participants was using the demijohn water as the drinking water, 23.4% of them was preferring the mains water and 22.8% of them was preferring the fresh water fountains. Ailesi ve çevresi üzerine etki oluşturabileceği düşünüldüğünde, kadınların içme suyu tercihlerinin bilinmesi önemlidir. Bu çalışmada, Konya ili merkez ilçelerinden biri olan Meram’da, kadınlarda içme suyu tercihleri ve tercih sebeplerini belirlemek amaçlanmıştır. Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı tipteki bu çalışma, Meram ilçesinde rastgele seçilen beş aile sağlığı merkezine başvuran 18 yaş üzeri kadınlar üzerinde yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın örneklemi, uygun örnek büyüklüğü belirleme yöntemine göre 158 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Veriler yüz yüze görüşme tekniği kullanılarak bir anket formu yardımıyla toplanmıştır. Veri analizinde tanımlayıcı istatistikler ve ki kare testi kullanılmıştır. p<0,05 istatistiksel olarak anlamlı kabul edilmiştir. Bulgular: Çalışmaya katılan 158 kadının yaş ortalaması 38,4 ±14,3 bulunmuştur. Katılımcıların %36,7’sinin içme suyu olarak damacana suyunu kullandığı, %23,4’ünün şebeke suyunu, %22,8’inin ise tatlı su çeşmelerini tercih ettiği tespit edilmiştir.
