Objective: The purpose of this study is to determine the frequency and distribution of the hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), hepatitis C virus antibody (anti-HCV), human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1/2antigen/antibody) and Venereal Disease Research Laboratory (VDRL) seropositivity, some of the mandatory tests in blood donors, among years, in Corum a Turkish mid-Anatolian city. Methods: 13.780 blood donor samples admitted to the Transfusion Center of Hitit University, Çorum Training and Research Hospital, between January 2008 and September 2013, were included in the study. Donor samples were analyzed using HBsAg, anti-HCV and HIV 1/2 ag/ab, VDRL tests and findings were analyzed retrospectively among years and by gender. For HBsAg, anti-HCV and HIV 1/2 tests, chemiluminescent microparticle enzyme immunoassay (Architect, Abbott Diagnostics, USA) method is applied by using Abbott Diagnostics kits (HBsAgIreland, anti-HCV-Germany, HIV Ag / Ab Combo-Germany). Anti-HIV positive samples were sent to the Department of Microbiology Reference Laboratory in Public Health Institution of Turkey, in order to confirm the samples by using Western Blot Method (WB). Syphilis screening tests were performed by using VDRL tests (Plasma Tec Laboratory ProductsUnited Kingdom). Results: Among total of 13.780 blood donors; 856 (6.2%) were female, 12.924 (93.8%) were male and ÖZET Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, bir orta Anadolu şehri olan Çorum’da; kan bağışçılarında bakılması zorunlu enfeksiyon göstergeleri olan hepatit B yüzey antijeni (HBsAg), hepatit C virüsü antikoru (anti-HCV), insan immün yetmezlik virüsü (HIV1 /2) antijen/antikoru ve Venereal Hastalık Araştırma Laboratuvarı (VDRL) testlerinin pozitif olma sıklığını ve yıllara göre dağılımını saptamaktır. Yöntemler: Ocak 2008-Eylül 2013 tarihleri arasında Hitit Üniversitesi Çorum Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi Transfüzyon Merkezine başvuran 13.780 kan bağışçısı örneği retrospektif olarak HBsAg, anti-HCV, HIV 1/2 antijen/antikoru ve VDRL bulguları, yıllara ve cinsiyete göre dağılımı açısından sorgulandı. HBsAg, anti-HCV, HIV 1/2 testleri kemilüminesan mikropartikül enzim immünassay yöntemi (Architect, Abbott Diagnostics cihazı-ABD; Abbott Diagnostics kitleri HBsAg İrlanda, anti-HCV-Almanya, HIV Ag/Ab Combo-Almanya) ile çalışıldı. HIV pozitifliği saptanan bağışçı örnekleri Türkiye Halk Sağlığı Kurumu Mikrobiyoloji Referans Laboratuvarları Daire Başkanlığı’nda, western blot (WB) yöntemi ile doğrulandı. Sifiliz tarama testleri ise VDRL (Plasmatec Laboratory Productsİngiltere) yöntemi ile değerlendirildi. Bulgular: 13.780 kan bağışçısının 856 (%6,2)’sı kadın, 12.924 (%93,8)’ü erkek olup, yaşları 18-60 arasında değişmekteydi.
