Gereç ve Yöntem: Ocak 2008 Şubat 2009 tarihleri arasında malign plevral efüzyon tanısıyla kliniğimize yatan 15 hasta, prospektif olarak çalışmaya dahil edildi. Uygulama için, lokal anesteziyi takiben 12F ince kateter plevral boşluğa yerleştirildi ve sıvı drene edildi. Drenaj sonrası tam reekspansiyon görülen olgularda, kateterin klempe edilmesini takiben, 20 ml %10’luk povidoniyot + 80 ml SF karışımı plevral boşluğa verildi. İki saat sonra klemp açılarak sıvı boşaltıldı ve günlük drenaj miktarı dikkate alınmaksızın en geç 48 saat içerisinde plöredez işlemi tamamlanıp kateter çekilerek hastalar taburcu edildi.
