Erçek Gölü, Türkiye’nin doğusunda farklı iklim sistemlerin kesiştiği kilit bir noktada yer almasıyla birlikte, Van Gölü’nden sonra havzada yer alan ikinci büyük kapalı havza gölüdür. Su kolonunda daha önce gerçekleştirilen çalışmalar, su kolonunun yıl boyunca sıcaklığında meydana gelen değişimlerin açıklanması için yeterli değildir. Bu çalışma kapsamında 2016-2017 yılları arasında 12 ay süresince gölün en derin noktasından dikey olarak su kolonunda CTD cihazı ile sıcaklık ölçümleri yapılmıştır. Göl suyu sıcaklığının değişiminin incelendiği bu çalışmada elde edilen veriler kapsamında, göl su kolonunun mayıskasım ayları arasında termal tabakalanma gösterdiği ve kış mevsiminde su kütlesinin karıştığı ortaya konulmuştur. Tüm veriler doğrultusunda Erçek Gölü “Holomiktik Göl” sınıfına dahil edilmiştir. Lake Erçek is located in eastern Turkey which has a key point where different climatic systems intersect and after Lake Van it is the second largest closed basin lake in the basin. Previous studies in the water column are not sufficient to explain changes in the temperature of the water column throughout the year. Wihtin the scope of this study, temperature measurements were carried out in the water coloumn vertically from the deepest point of the lake for 12 months between 2016-2017 with CTD device. In this study, the change of the lake water temperature was examined and it was revealed that the lake water column showed thermal stratrification between may and november and the water body mixed in winter. All data showed that Lake Erçek is included in “Holomictic Lake” class.
