Objective: Obsessive-compulsive disorder is a heterogeneous condition with a wide range of symptom presentations. Researchers recently started to investigate obsessions and compulsions focusing on intimate relationship and partner. The aim of this study was to adapt the Relationship Obsessive Compulsive Inventory and the Partner Related Obsessive Compulsive Symptom Inventory to Turkish and to assess validity and reliability of the Turkish forms of the scales. Method: The sample of the study consisted of 292 adults who were in an intimate relationship at the time of the study. Participants’ age ranged from 18 to 63 years. Participants completed a battery of self-report measures including Relationship Obsessive Compulsive Inventory, Partner Related Obsessive Compulsive Symptom Inventory, Obsessive Compulsive Inventory – Revised, Obsessive Beliefs Questionnaire – 44, Experiences in Close Relationship Scale – Revised, Depression Anxiety Stress Scale and Relationship Assessment Scale. In order to assess testretest reliability of the scales, 36 participants were asked to complete the scales of interest once again 4 weeks later. Results: Confirmatory factor analysis revealed that factor structures of Turkish forms of the scales corresponded to the original factor structures of the scales. In addition, results showed that both scales had construct, criterion and predictive validities. Moreover, the scales showed high internal consistency, test-retest and splithalf reliabilities. Conclusion: To conclude, the study revealed that Turkish forms of the Relationship Obsessive Compulsive Inventory and the Partner Related Obsessive Compulsive Symptom Inventory have good reliability and validity, supporting cross-cultural nature of the scales.
