OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the bond strength of fiber posts with different surface treatments using a pushout test. METHODS: Sixty-four extracted single-rooted mandibular premolars were used in the present study. Access cavities were prepared and root canals were shaped using NiTi rotary files. Samples were divided in two main groups according to EDTA application to root surfaces. Each main group was divided into 4 subgroups according to the fiber post surface treatments (9.6 % hydrofluoric acid and silane). RESULTS: The highest resistance was determined in the coronal part of the roots, and the lowest resistance was found in apical part of the roots. EDTA application increased the bond strength significantly. The highest bond strength was found in the group treated with EDTA, HF and silane (p<0.05). The lowest bond strength was found in the control group (p<0.05). CONCLUSION: EDTA, hydrofluoric acid and silane applications significantly enhanced the bond strength of fiber posts to root dentin.
