Aim In this study, it was aimed to detect the family physicians’ attitudes to the complementary and alternative treatment (CAT). Methods Seventyeight family physicians who are working for Afyonkarahisar Public Health Directorate, Department of Family Medicine had attended to the study. A questionnaire prepared to assess the attitudes to of the family physicians about complementary and alternative treatment was applied. Results For the family physicians in the study; the ratio of believing efficiency of CAT was 83.3% (n:65) and using any of the CAT methods was 75.6%. Family physicians, as a ratio of 80.8% were expressed that they recommend their patients any of the CAT methods. The most commonly advised method is herbal treatment and vitamins (79.5%).
