Thepurposeofthisstudywastooferbasicdatafordevelopingefectiveprogramforpromotionelderly people’soralcondition,andoralhealthbehaviorupontheappearanceofdenture.Thisstudywasperformed byutilizinghealthquestionnairesurveyandoralexaminationsurveyforfirstyear(2010)lawdataofthe 5thkoreanationalhealthandnutritionexaminationsurvey.Theresearchsubjectswere1419peoplewho wereagedover65andcompletedtheoralexaminationandoralquestionnairesurvey.Inthegeneral characteristics,theneedofdenturewasindicatedhighlyinthemaleelderly.Factorsofhavingrelationship withaneedofdentureinoralhealthconditionwereindicatedtobechewingdificulty(p<0.001)anddental caries(p<0.0001).Thecaseofnotusingoralhygienedevicewashighinaneedofdenture(p<0.001).Also, acaseofnotdentaltreatmentwasindicatedtobehighinaneedofdenture(p<0.001).Throughthese relatedfindings,theelderly’soralconditionandoralhealthbehaviorwereindicatedtohavehigh relationshipwithaneedofdenture.Thereisaneedofsecuringbasicdataforpromotingtheelderly’soral healthinthefutureandofseekingaplaneforapplicationinordertoimprovetheelderly’shealthinthe agingsociety.Thereforethereisaneedofsecuringandseekingelderly’shealthprogram whichis consideredtheagingsociety’scharacteristicstoimprovetheelderly’shealthpromotion. ■ keyword : Elderly's Need of Denture Oral Health Oral Health Condition  :2014 04 16  :2014 05 26  :2014 06 10  :,e-mail:kiten-yaong@hanmail.net  '14 Vol. 14 No. 6 272
