Inthisstudy,theeffectofcommunicationwithaguardianofarecipientofaLong-termCare Programonjobsatisfactionofcarehelpersofin-homecarefacilitiesfortheelderlyisanalyzed. First,mostofthecarehelpersarecontentwiththeirjobdespitelowpayandshortwork-hour. Especialy,theyareawareoftheneedofcommunicationwithaguardianbutskepticalaboutthe needofhavingintimacywithaguardian,sotherelationbetweenacarehelperandaguardian isusualyformalonly.Second,intermsofcharacteristicsofaguardian,carehelpershavehigher jobsatisfactionwhenaguardianisamaleandold,anddoesnothaveanunreasonabledemand.
