The present study aims the improvement of the manufacturing processes in a plastic packaging company, through the reduction of the use of raw material by applying the DMAIC method. In order to carry this study on, an active research was used for collection of data, that was actively carried on by researchers. Initially, a sampling of pots produced in the processes to be studied was carried out, and it was noticed that their medium weight was above specification, almost reaching the maximum. Through more in-depth analysis, and with the use of quality tools, the root causes of the problem were identified. A plan of action was then elaborated to fix the reasons for the problem in question. After implementing the above mentioned plan actions, it showed to be effective and present4ed satisfactory results, such as a possible monthly saving of R$ 11,907 in raw material consumed.
