This work presents a case study on the application of the Quick Tool Change Tool (TRF) in the plastic injection process of an industry in the state of Santa Catarina. The objective of this work is to propose the application of the TRF methodology to reduce the set up time, during the exchange of molds in an injector, analyzing the activities of the company's set up process, problems were observed during its execution, it was possible to identify and map the types of internal and external set ups, which resulted in the reduction of equipment preparation times using the method of Shingo (1985), a new set up process was developed and standardized for the exchange of molds in an injector, which made it possible to reduce the machine preparation time by around 70%.
