We evaluated the replacement of corn for silage of orange (SBL) on performance, and carcass characteristics of lambs Santa Ines. Twenty lambs uncastrated, mean PVI of 24.56 kilograms and approximately five months of age, were kept until they reached 33 kg, fed diets containing increasing levels of SBL replacing corn (0, 33, 66 and 100% MS). The dry matter intake (DMI g / d) was influenced (P <0.05) by the substitution of corn by the SBL, the levels of 66% and 100% showed similar means, the level of 33% was similar to the level 0% and other levels. There was a significant difference (P <0.05) for PVF in relation to replacement levels, the level 100% differed (30.12 kg) level without SBL, and similar levels of 33% and 66% replacement . The slaughter weight was influenced (P <0.05) by the diet, the level of 100% (28.90 kg) differed from the other levels. The weight of hot and cold carcass were influenced (P <0.05) by the diet, the level 100% had lower weight differing from the other levels. There was a significant difference (P <0.05) for the weight of the palette, rib and loin. The orange peel silage can replace corn in the percentage of up to 66% in the diets of lambs without affecting carcass characteristics.
