Ma te ri al and Met hods: Ni nety he althy adult vo lun te ers (33 wo men, 57 men) we re inc lu ded in this study. The me an age of par ti ci pants was 34.2 (20-52) ye ars. The right fo re arm was ex po sed to vib ra ti on for 1 mi nu te. The fre qu ency of vib ra ti on was 46 Hz. The res ting myo e lec tri cal ac ti vi ti es of the right and left wrist fle xor musc les we re si mul ta ne o usly me a su red by sur fa ce elec trom yog raphy be fo re, du ring and af ter vib ra ti on. The right ul tra dis tal ra di us bo ne mi ne ral den sity and bo ne mi ne ral con tent we re me a su red by du al-energy X-ray ab sorb ti o metry. Re sults: The res ting myo e lec tri cal ac ti vity of the left wrist fle xor musc les sig ni fi cantly in cre a sed du ring vib ra ti on (from 2.0±0.8 mic ro volts to 4.5±2.2 mic ro volts, p=0.0001). It dec re a sed to 1.8±0.9 mic ro volts af ter vib ra ti on (p=0.0001).
