IgE antibodies formed against an allergen may react with similar proteins originated from a completely different source. Allergens causing cross reactions are responsible for most of the food allergies in the adult population. Exercise-induced allergy following food intake is a rare condition. Many foods consumed 24 hours prior to exercise may lead to exercise-induced anaphy - laxis. Nevertheless, consuming such food without exercise does not lead to any symptom. Many foods like grains, sea products, fruits and vegetables are related to exercise-induced anaphylaxis. Cross-reactions between fungal spores and cultivated mushroom were reported in a few cases. In this paper, we presented a case with anaphylaxis that developed during exercise following inges - tion of cultivated mushrooom in a patient sensitive to fungal spores and mushroom; the case was diagnosed with skin prick test.
