The article noted that the religious view of the world passes through all the works by A.I. Solzhenitsyn, organically intertwined with the narrative structure of the literary works, and in his publicistic works is noted in the article. It is due to the undoubted religiousness of the writer who clearly understood the existential essence of Orthodoxy. The writer sees the world as the Creation which is full of the deepest meaning and his task is to understand the God’s plan the deep sense of events and phenomena. This is the peculiarity of Solzhenitsyn’s aesthetics, which combines seemingly incompatible: on the one hand, strict documentalism, refusal of any invention, on the other hand, there is a deep ontological symbolism, the clearest example of which is “Stalinist” Chapters in the novel “The First Circle”. The invention is not typical of the writer; he uses it when the real facts or documents are completely inaccessible. The representatives of Russian literature of the nineteenth century and Solzhenitsyn are united by the main thing that Orthodoxy is the basis of Russian existence is claimed in the article.
