Objective: To evaluate the superficial retinal capillary bed quantitatively via optic coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) in healthy individuals without any vascular disease. Method: Cross-sectional study. The healthy individuals between 18 and 45 years of age who did not have any ophthalmological disorder were included in this study. OCTA images measuring 6x6 mm were obtained for the evaluation of superficial retinal capillary circulation. The parameters such as foveal avascular zone (FAZ), FAZ perimeter, FAZ circularity, vessel density, and perfusion density which were provided via the device were evaluated. Results: A total of 100 eyes of 50 healthy individuals were included in the study. Thirtytwo (64%) of the study participants were women and 18 (36%) were men. The mean age was 32.5±7.1 years (range 20-45 years). Mean FAZ area was 0.30 mm2. Mean full vessel density was 18,00 mm-1 and mean full perfusion density was 0,439. Conclusion: Qualitative and also quantitative evaluation of the results of optical coherence tomography may provide a valuable benefit as for diagnosis and follow-up of retinal diseases. The normal values obtained from this study may shed light on future studies to be performed.
