EnglishOld age is the challenge of the century for those who seek to live with quality of life. Successful aging highlights goals that address the biopsychosocial aspects that pass through old age and that guarantee integrality in meeting the demands of the elderly. Interdisciplinarity and intersectoriality are ways that contribute to transpose a hegemonic model of aging, as well as reorient the intervention practices among the social subjects who have aged in an empowering perspective towards a just and solidary society. The objective of this study is to discuss the organization of the services offered to the elderly in public policies in Manaus from the demands presented in health and social care. The methodology is anchored in the qualitative approach, bibliographical and field research with six social workers who work directly with the elderly person. The results point to the need for concerted efforts to promote participatory and democratic processes. Keywords: Old age. Public policy. O envelhecimento bem-sucedido destaca metas que contemplam os aspectos biopsicossociais que perpassam a velhice e que garantem a integralidade no atendimento as demandas da pessoa idosa. A interdisciplinaridade e a intersetorialidade sao caminhos que contribuem para transpor um modelo hegemonico de envelhecimento, assim como pode reorientar as praticas interventivas junto aos sujeitos sociais que envelheceram em uma perspectiva de empoderamento rumo a uma sociedade justa e solidaria. O objetivo deste trabalho consiste em discutir a organizacao dos servicos oferecidos a pessoa idosa nas politicas publicas em Manaus a partir das demandas apresentadas na saude e na assistencia social. A metodologia esta ancorada na abordagem qualitativa, pesquisa bibliografica e de campo com seis assistentes sociais que atuam diretamente com a pessoa idosa. Os resultados apontam a necessidade de esforcos conjugados para promover processos participativos e democraticos.
