Este artigo busca realizar uma analise sobre os regimes de protecao social na America Latina tendo em vista uma analise comparada dos mesmos em diversos paises atraves da exposicao das diferentes tentativas de agrupamento de paises, realizada por autores na regiao latino-americana. Nao obstante, debate-se tambem sobre os desafios contemporâneos dos regimes de protecao social na regiao, indicando alguns direcionamentos em curso. O delineamento da pesquisa sera realizado atraves de revisao bibliografica pertinente ao tema, buscando delimitar as diferentes abordagens sobre as tendencias de reforma da protecao social na America Latina. Palavras-chave: Regimes de Protecao Social. America Latina. Tendencias de Reforma. Abstract: This paper aims to carry out an analysis of social protection systems in Latin America. To this end, a number of authors in Latin America developed a comparative analysis of the different social protection systems by grouping the different countries accordingly. The paper also discusses the contemporary challenges to social protection systems in the region and points out some of the measures that have been taken. The research includes a literature review of the topic investigated in order to define the different approaches about social protection reform tendencies in Latin America.
