Entre mythes et faits se construit une géographie imaginaire de l’Andalousie. Le regard du géographe et de l’écrivain se mêlent, et c’est dans une sorte d’alchimie épistémologique que se développe le genre du récit de voyage. Située aux confins de l’Europe, l’Andalousie, avec ses fleuves peints en couleurs d’or et d’argent, a été longtemps imaginée comme un locus amoenus. Recourant au mythe de l’âge d’or (que Fénelon situe dans la Bétique), et cultivant la nostalgie du glorieux Al-Andalus, le voyage romantique idéalise parallèlement la figure de l’écrivain comme mage et alchimiste. Dépassant les cadres génériques et formels, mariant l’histoire et la fiction, associant la poésie et la prose, reprenant à leur compte les penchants esthétiques de l’époque (retour au Moyen-Âge, orientalisme pictural et littéraire), les écrivains-voyageurs romantiques sont à la recherche d’une nouvelle formule du récit de voyage, dont ils trouvent le libre modèle dans l’exubérance de la nature andalouse.Entre mitos y hechos se construye una geografía imaginaria de Andalucía. La mirada del geógrafo y del escritor se mezclan, y se desarrolla, en una especie de alquimia epistemológica, el modelo del relato de viajes. Situada en las fronteras de Europa, con sus ríos pintados de color de oro y plata, durante mucho tiempo Andalucía ha sido considerada como un locus amoenus. Utilizando el mito de la Edad de Oro (que Fénelon sitúa en Bética) y cultivando la nostalgia de la gloriosa Al-Andalus, el viaje romántico idealiza en paralelo la figura del escritor como mago y alquimista. Sobrepasando los marcos genéricos y formales, combinando historia y ficción, asociando poesía y prosa, haciendo propias las tendencias estéticas de la época (vuelta a la Edad Media, Orientalismo literario y pictórico), los viajeros-escritores románticos buscan una nueva fórmula de relato de viaje, y encuentran el modelo inspirador en la exuberancia de la naturaleza andaluza.Myths and facts build an imaginary geography of Andalusia. The geographer’s point of view is mingled with the writer’s approach, and travel narratives are based on an epistemological alchemy. Located on the margins of Europe, Andalusia, with its golden and silver rivers, has been thought of as a locus amoenus for a long time. Using the myth of the Golden Age (which Fénelon locates in Baetica) and cultivating nostalgia for the glorious Al-Andalus, the romantic journey paints the idealized portrait of the writer as a magician and alchemist. Exceeding the generic and formal limits, mixing history and fiction, combining poetry and prose, appropriating the aesthetic tendencies of this period (return to the Middle Ages, literary and pictorial Orientalism), romantic travel writers are looking for a new formula of the travel narrative, the model of which they discover in the exuberance of the Andalusian nature
