This work aims at showing the public debate generated on Twitter and in the press about a political issue: the Spanish educational reform LOMCE. Through the combination of quantitative and qualitative methodological techniques, this research analyzes comparatively the symbolic frames on this issue, popularly known as ‘Wert law’, on this social network and in two major national newspapers: El País y El Mundo. Our main goal is to contribute to the reflection on the influence that new spaces for citizen participation have on public debate, due to their ability to enrich and open the media discussion introducing new voices from civil society.La finalidad de este estudio es analizar el debate público generado en Twitter y en la prensa alrededor de un tema político: la reforma educativa LOMCE. A través de la combinación de técnicas metodológicas cuantitativas y cualitativas, esta investigación analiza comparativamente los encuadres simbólicos (frames) en torno al tema de la ‘ley Wert’ en esta red social y en dos de los principales diarios de tirada nacional: El País y El Mundo. Se pretende contribuir a la reflexión sobre la influencia que los nuevos espacios de participación ciudadana tiene sobre el debate público por su capacidad para enriquecer la discusión mediática con la apertura a nuevas voces procedentes de la sociedad civil

Twitter y la prensa: dos relatos sobre la ‘ley Wert’
