Emilio Adolfo Westphalen, autor apenas estudiado a pesar de ser considerado una figura clave de la poesía peruana e hispanoamericana, es conocido por su trayectoria como poeta y ensayista, y estimado por su labor al frente de las revistas Las Moradas y Amaru. Sin embargo, su faceta como traductor ha pasado completamente desapercibida. El presente trabajo es el primer estudio que analiza esta faceta de Westphalen con el fin de establecer su teoría poética sobre la traducción, en la que se resalta la naturaleza concomitante de la escritura literaria y la traducción.Emilio Adolfo Westphalen, a hardly researched author in spite of being an important person in Peruvian and Spanish-American poetry, is known by his work as poet and essay-writer, and he is also known by his labour at head of Las Moradas and Amaru reviews. However, his translations works have been completely unnoticed. This paper, the first which analyzes that, fixes his poetic theory about literary translation. The paper emphasizes also the concomitant nature of literary writing and translation
