In August of 2011, armed federal agents raided Gibson Guitar Corporation for the second time in as many years. The government was targeting Gibson over allegations that it had violated one of the oldest environmental laws in the United States—the Lacey Act. The raid brought production to a halt at several of Gibson's Tennessee-based facilities and resulted in the seizure of documents, guitars, and other items.
