. It is well known that the influence of the internal and externaldrilling fluid on the lateral vibration characteristics of drillstringcannot be ignored. In this paper, experiment apparatus for simulatingdrillstring vibration was established. Hammering method is used to measuredrillstring lateral natural vibration frequency when the internal andexternal drilling fluid is considered. The test results show that thedrilling fluid can decrease the natural frequency of the drillstring. Basedon the simulation model, considering the influence of the internal andexternal drilling fluid, an external drilling fluid additional masscoefficient is derived considering the dynamic pressure effect caused byexternal drilling fluid. Additional mass coefficient can get the result withhigh precision, which can meet the needs of the project. the simulationresults are in good agreement with the test results, and the error is within2 %. This work provides a useful attempt and lays the foundation for thedynamics of the drill string in the drilling fluid environment.
