Fast CME/shocks propagating in the interplanetary medium can generatekilometric Type II (km-TII) radio emissions at the local plasmafrequency and/or its harmonic, so these radio emissions provide ameans of remotely tracking CME/shocks. We apply a new analysistechnique, using the frequency drift of km-TII spectrum obtained bythe Thermal Noise Receiver (TNR) of the WIND/WAVES experiment, toinfer, at some adequate intervals, the propagation speed of sixCME/shocks. We combine these results with previously reported speedsfrom coronagraph white light and interplanetary scintillation observations, andin-situ measurements, to study the temporal speed evolution of the sixevents. The speed values obtained by the km-TII analysis are in areasonable agreement with the speed measurements obtained by othertechniques at different heliocentric distance ranges. The combinationof all the speed measurements show a gradual deceleration of theCME/shocks as they propagate to 1 AU. This new technique can beuseful in studying the evolution of fast CME/shocks when adequateintervals of km-TII emissions are available
