Airglow observations\udwith a Spectral Airglow Temperature Imager\ud(SATI),\udinstalled\udat the Sierra Nevada\udObservatory (37.06° N, 3.38° W) at 2900-m height,\udhave been used to investigate the presence of tidal\udvariations at mid-latitudes in the mesosphere/lower thermosphere region.\udDiurnal variations of the column emission rate and vertically\udaveraged temperature of the O<sub>2</sub>\udAtmospheric (0-1) band and of the OH Meinel (6-2) band\udfrom 5 years (1998-2003) of observations have been analysed.\udFrom these observations a clear tidal variation of both\udemission rates and\udrotational temperatures is inferred.\udIt is found that the amplitude of the daily variation for both emission\udrates and temperatures is greater from late autumn to spring than\udduring summer.\udThe amplitude decreases by more than a factor of two\udduring summer and\udearly autumn with respect to the amplitude in the winter-spring months.\udAlthough the tidal modulations are preferentially semidiurnal in both\udrotational temperatures and emission rates during the whole year, during\udearly spring the tidal modulations seem to be more consistent with\uda\uddiurnal modulation in both\udrotational temperatures\udand emission rates.\udMoreover,\udthe OH emission\udrate from late autumn to early winter has a  pattern suggesting\udboth diurnal and semidiurnal tidal modulations
